10th Generation Honda Civic selling as hot cakes in Malaysia

Honda Civic is Honda answer to its competitor in its segment which is the C-Segment market.For example the Mazda 3,Toyota Corolla,Hyundai Elantra and more.The 10th generation Honda Civic launched in Malaysia back in year 2016. It has became a popular and best selling C-Segment vehicle in Malaysia compared to its predecessor of the 10th generation the Civic FB which didn't do well in terms of sales in Malaysia.The 10th Generation of the Honda Civic is managed to get 72%market share in its category back in year 2019 which is a very successful figure.

The main reason which let the 10th generation Civic became a best selling model in Malaysia no doubt it's the design.Even though it's not as striking or as beautiful as the Mazda 3 with KODO design philosophy by Mazda but it's still a very handsome looking car with the fastback body style.Secondly,the signature C-shaped taillights which came over from the 9th generation Civic FB.Interestingly Malaysian nicknamed the taillights design as "Ketam" because of the shape is similar to Crab's arm.

Well,not all cars is perfect, here's some reason why you shouldn't get the 10th generation Civic.The overall quality of the Civic is rather decent given that it's price more than RM100k compared to its competitors such as the Mazda 3 and Toyota Corolla which does better in it.Next,the sound insulation it's not the strong part of most Honda model including the Civic.The sound insulation from the roof, undercarriage is pretty bad during rain when you are going through some potholes and rain drops from the roof can be a bit harsh.The maintenance of the 1.5 Turbo is also rather expensive compared to its competitors which is using Naturally aspirated engine and also the lower variant of the Civic,1.8 NA engine.

Most importantly, car price is a very sensitive thing amongst car buyer in Malaysia.Honda Civic managed to lowered down the price because of locally assembly facilities at Melaka.The base 1.8 Civic starting from as low as RM113,000 and the 1.5 Turbo variant starting at RM130,000.Its way more cheaper than Corolla Altis 1.8 NA selling at RM130,000 for the base model and Mazda 3 at RM140,000 for the 1.5 NA.This shows that Honda has make the right decision to locally assembly the 10th generation Honda Civic which offers a affordable price for a C-Segment Sedan in Malaysia.

To Summarize,Honda Civic is Honda's most successful product and it's the same story here in Malaysia.Honda Civic is pretty affordable yet it's fully equipped even the base variant already has almost complete features.The quality of the Civic is far more refined than its lower segment brother,Honda HR-V which is price at RM100k as well.Secondly,the practicality is excellent and also convenience for daily usage.The performance is impressive for both 1.8 NA and 1.5 Turbo engine.Lastly,the design is the main point why Honda Civic became the best selling C-Segment in Malaysia.
